Episode 46: Dana Crawford

Laura Marion, founder of Flight Architecture, joins the show to talk about how architects should respond to their natural environment and the responsibilities they have to the needs of the people who inhabit their designs. She talks about the lineage of architects in her family, how they influenced her design philosophy, and how she plans to practice architecture moving forward. She also explores the concept of “love” within her creative process, both for the natural world as well as architecture.

After the credits they discuss the shared challenges of starting a firm, gathering clients, and balancing the realities of being a working architect with the desire to create meaningful design, as well as the shared desire for more collaboration between different firms and architects.
